What does it take to get inspired?

Sun Mar 29, 2009, 9:53 AM
Hello people out there!

First of all I just want to say thank you to everybody who has commented and faved my work. Sometimes I remind myself that hundreds of people actually like my art and that always makes me incredibly happy. You mean a lot to me!

Secondly, I have to say that March has been a really busy and inspiring month for me. I've uploaded tons of photos here and it feels great. I can't help but wonder what it really is that inspires me so much. Is it the sunshine? The bright mornings? Love? Music? I don't really know. Do you know what inspires you?

And last but not least, I have to tell you what happened to me yesterday: It was about seven in the evening and I was waiting for the tram in my town Gothenburg. Suddenly, a man comes up to me and tells me he recognizes me from dA and that he really likes my photos! Did that make me happy? Yes, it made my day. I felt like a celebrity! If you feel like it you can check out his great gallery here:

that's so cool! I'm quite jealous of both your inspiration and your celebrity status ;)

Haha thank you! =)

Making this in English for everyone to read.

Me and my Girlfriend was waiting for a tram to take us to the 36crazyfists concert( [link] ) held at Brewhouse. When I saw you walk up to the booth, at first I didn't know if I should say something or stay quiet(after all I could be mistaken ;)) But it wasn't very hard to make up my thoughts. So I just spoke my mind, I'm glad it made you happy =) My girlfriend was like "hmpf.. who's she?" haha ^^

It's a small world :)

Awesome! It takes a lot to give me inspiration typically. Whenever I see something beautiful I typically get this urge to capture it on camera.

Or else it's a kind of thought like: I'm going to take pictures today, and if I get a good one out of the bunch I'm lucky. This kind of works because recently I've been more of an animal/macro photographer where you are more of a portrait photographer and I'm sure your job is harder.

Haha i recognize walking around the house trying to find something to shoot! No, I don't think theres a very big difference in difficulty between macro and portrait photography, they're just different sorts. :)

I guess. I would think it would be easier to find inspiration for someone like me because animals and plants to me are always interesting... whereas you always play it up to make some cool portraits.

Yeah I'm always walking around thinking... what can I shoot.
